President Muhammadu Buhari and the All Progressives Congress mourn the sudden demise of Alhaji Zannah Mustapha, Borno state deputy governor.
The renowned official died while in sleep on Saturday, August 15, which was confirmed by Borno state government.
According to The Punch, the country leader and the ruling party in two separate statements expressed shock and sadness over the passing of Mustapha.
Buhari said expressed his sincere condolences through his media adviser Femi Adesina:
“President Buhari joins Governor Shettima, members of Alhaji Zannah’s family, his friends, political associates, colleagues in the Borno State government, constituents and supporters in praying that Almighty Allah will receive his soul and grant him eternal rest.”
The APC issued an official statement signed by the party national publicity secretary, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, which read:
“The suddenness of Alhaji’s Zannah’s passing has deepened the pain caused by his death. We pray that God will comfort his family and give them the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.”
The remains of the deceased were set to have been brought to Maiduguri for a funeral ceremony at the government house at 4pm.
