President Muhammadu Buhari holds a meeting with all the service chiefs, who arrived the Aso Rock briefly after the president resumed at the presidential villa.
This happened to be the first official meeting Buhari is overseeing in the presidential villa.
It’s the third time that Nigeria’s leader meets with the service chiefs since he assumed the post.
Buhari who arrived the office at about 10am on June 22, Monday morning went into meetings with the Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo, some presidential aides and some personnel of the Villa.
It should be noted that unlike the era of former president Goodluck Jonathan when such meetings had the Director General of the Department of State Services in attendance, the DG of the DSS was not present at this meeting.
The incumbent president is expected to make some announcements on appointments of ministers soon.Former military ruler Muhammadu Buhari formally took over as Nigeria’s elected head of state after his election victory in March 28 polls.
A presidential aide had explained recently that the president could not move into his official residence because renovation works were still going on.
He finally resumed in the presidential office at Aso Rock on June 22, today.
