Is 2016 the year famous Nollywood actress Genevieve Nnaji walks down the aisle?
Ghana Celebrities is reporting that the 38-year old actress is set to marry 29-year old “Alhaji” Ishaya Bako, the director of her latest movie Road to Yesterday before the end of 2016.
The website claims that the duo became friends after the actress moved to Abuja from Lagos about two years ago.
However, a spokesperson of Bako, who is also known for his Africa Movie Academy Awards movie, Braids on a Bald Head, and the 2012 documentary Fueling Poverty, on Tuesday denied the report. The source exclusively told Naij.com that the story is false.
“We have been laughing since we read it,” Bako’s spokesperson said. “But what can you do? It is not true.”
On Saturday, December 12, the former finance minister Dr Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala’s son, Uzodinma Iweala, proposed to Genevieve on the red carpet for the premier of his movie Beasts of no Nation, but it was all in jest.
Genvieve, a mainstay in Nollywood since the late nineties, is notoriously single and a mother of one. She was previously linked to singer Dbanj, whom she had reportedly dated on and off since appearing in the video of his song Fall in Love.
