Governor Tanko Al-Makura of Nasarawa state has listed some of the benefits of president Muhammadu Buhari’s recent visit of the United States.
In a live programme monitored in Lagos today, the governor noted that the Nigerian leader’s visit to president Barrack Obama has placed Nigeria on a higher pedestal on the world stage.
He explained further that it showed Nigeria’s acceptability by the world powers, adding that it showed the peculiarity of Nigeria’s situation.
“He was emphatic on one of the ways we can solve the menace of Boko haram in the country. The president is very serious about the issue of corruption, mining, power and giving his antecedents, he is one known to achieve this.
“He also wants to promote the well being of the citizens of the country,” he stated.
Al-Makura also backed the Nigerian president to restore the country’s economy and the national pride, especially as that was one of the reasons he traveled to the United States.
Meanwhile, president Buhari was blasted for embarrassing Nigerians with his visit of the United States.
