The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) have given an official account of how the twin explosion at the Nyanya night market happened.
In a statement by a spokesperson of the NPF, Olabisi Kolawole, the police said two suicide bombers – a male and a female carried out the attack.
Kolawole said this was revealed by preliminary investigations done by the police team.
She said the inspector general of police, Solomon Arase, has also ordered a massive stop and search in and around the Federal Capital Territory.
The police chief condemning the act said the perpetrators of the attack did so in shame of cowardice.
“Nigeria will not accommodate terrorists’ acts,” Arase said.
He also said that an immediate deployment of police explosives ordinance disposal units to the scenes has been ordered to prevent further destruction.
