In Plateau, Bombs Found Inside Church Few Hours Before Commencement Of Service

Another tragedy was averted in Jos, Plateau State, on Sunday following discovery of explosive objects planted in Evangelical Church of Wining All (ECWA), Tundun Wada, by a local security man before the commencement of service.

Tribune Online learnt that the explosive objects were discovered by a security man identified as Danjuma Umaru who carried out a check inside the church before the commencement of Sunday service in one of the toilets.
It was learnt that on entering the toilet, the security man saw an object concealed in a nylon bag vibrating, picked it up and threw it behind the church fence. A few minutes later, the object exploded with a bang that cause commotion in the neighborhood.

The Plateau State Police Public Relations Officer, Abuh Emmanuel, who confirmed the incident, said immediately the object exploded, men of the Anti-Bomb Squad of the command were drafted to the scene to comb the vicinity for any possible explosive object.

According to him, in the process of combing the church and its surroundings, another improvised explosive devices were discovered in the church, forcing most of those who had arrived for service to go back. He added that the explosive objects were recovered and defused by the men of the squad.
