My Word Is My Bond, Obaseki Tells Teachers

THE APC Governorship  candidate, Mr. Godwin Obaseki, has asked teachers across the 18 local Government Areas of the state to hold him accountable for all his campaign promises, saying that if elected, he will ensure frequent teachers’ conference to help solve their problems.

Speaking during an interactive session with teachers in the state, he said: “If the situation in Edo is as it was in 2007, I will not be who I am today. I didn’t know things were worse than what I thought until we got to Government House.

We have a long way to go, by the grace of God, in my first four years, I will refurbish our entire primary and secondary schools because we must start to get our beginning right. “We will always sit down, engage and talk about things in specific and concrete terms. How we train and retrain our teachers to have a solid education will be my priority.

We have started a process; we started a revolution in Edo state but that is just phase one, but the real revolution will be sitting with you and addressing all the problems affecting the educational system positively in the state. You are the teachers, you teach us, we can’t teach you… I want to assure you that I have heard you very clearly. I am going to sit down with you at the senatorial and state level and proffer solutions to the various problems”.
