Gordon Obua, the former chief security officer, previously detained and later released by security operatives, is currently in a critical condition at a national hospital.
Mr Obua, who served under the Goodluck Jonathan administration, was detained by the Department of State Services operatives on July 16 and regained his freedom on July 21. Throughout this period rumours started circulating that Jonathan’s CSO was dead, but the information was, however, quickly dismissed.
According to the latest reports Obua is lying sick as he is still in pain, both physical and emotional, following his release, the Nigerian blogger Linda Ikeji reports with reference to the former officer’s friends. They allegedly posted the photo on Facebook saying that his abdomen was swollen and it was hard for him to move.
The family is said to be making preparation to fly him abroad for treatment as advised by the family doctor.
