Aisha Buhari spotted attending US Institute of Peace event Dokunola 32 minutes ago 12610 After allegations that she landed in the United States with a Hermes bag that worth N34 million, Aisha Buhari, wife of Nigeria’s president, was spotted attending an event in the country.
Pictures obtained by Sahara Reporters showed Mrs Buhari in a cool, calm and collected mood as she attended an event at the United States Institute of Peace in collaboration with Voice of America media organization. Her itinerary showed that she would be in the President Barrack Obama-led country for about ten days on a visit, and the Nigerian First Lady seemed unfazed by reports that she traveled with such an expensive bag.
Among other events she is expected to attend are the bilateral meetings at the George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia and the 25th anniversary celebration of Zumunta Association USA Inc.
During her arrival in the US, the First Lady was reportedly received by the Nigerian Embassy envoy, some Nigerian state governors’ wives, American chapter of the Zumunta Association, USA chapter, and Nigerians in diaspora.
Also, critics of Ayo Fayose, the governor of Ekiti state, who accused Mrs Buhari of being involved in the Halliburton scandal and inability to visit the US in fear of arrest, took to social media to mock the politician and express their happiness for the First Lady.
