A mild drama ensued at the National Secretariat of All Progressives Congress, APC, yesterday, when youths who claimed to have come from Bauchi State, stormed the premises in protest for and against the Bauchi State governor, Mohammed Abubakar.
While some of the restive youths demanded the suspension of the governor by the party, others called for sanctions against Speaker Yakubu Dogara. The protest started as soon as the Bauchi State Chairman of the party, Uba Nana, arrived the party’s secretariat. One of the pro-Dogara supporters, Galadima Ittas, said that they were at the secretariat to draw the attention of the party to its imminent collapse in the state due to poor handling of its affairs by the governor and the chairman.
The timely intervention of security operatives, however, stopped the protest from degenerating into a free for all. Only last week, Speaker Yakubu Dogara, Education Minister, Adamu Adamu, some senators from Bauchi State and other party executives were at the party secretariat to report the state governor to the national leadership of the party.
