FORMER Publicity Secretary of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in Edo State, Mr. Ekehinde Obas has said that the decision of Abubakar Momoh and other Edo North leaders to back Pastor Ize-Iyamu was to pay him back for his past support for Edo North while he was in the defunct Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN.
“Pastor Ize-Iyamu is a friend of Edo North people. It was his singular effort when in the then ACN when he made a case for the governorship slot to be zoned to the Senatorial zone. So, this is payback time by Edo North to him to appreciate his support for the zone.”
On the chances of the PDP governorship candidate in the area, he said that “with the coming of Abubakar Momoh and his supporters, the APC are already aware that the game is over for them in the area. The remains of the APC in Edo North would soon be dislodged.”
